Review Draft v0.9Cutoff: 17 Oct 2026

Children, Age and Parent/Guardian Privacy Notice

Age-appropriate safeguards, guardian authorization, and under-18 provider protections.

Legal Review & Compliance Status Notice

This policy draft is tailored to AI Tathastu's verified architecture and engineering practices. Under India's phased legal framework (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025), substantive obligations commence in scheduled tranches.

Any item labelled with an [Awaiting Verification] tag designates operational data (such as formal legal entity name, designated grievance officer contacts, or vendor contractual tiers) reserved for verified business confirmation. This platform makes no unverified certification claims.

1. Who this applies to#

This notice is for people under 18 and their parent or lawful guardian. AI Tathastu may be used in an educational setting and must not assume every student is an adult. Under India's DPDP framework, the relevant under-18 provisions have phased commencement; other current contractual and statutory rules can also apply.

2. Our intended safety approach#

We aim to request only information needed for age-appropriate learning and account functions. Where legally required, covered processing will require verified parent/guardian permission before it starts. We will not treat a generic school/university affiliation or a minor's own checkbox as automatically satisfying such obligations. We will examine any narrow educational exceptions with counsel rather than claim a blanket exemption.

3. AI and third-party limits#

Some model APIs, including the Gemini Developer API under its current terms, restrict availability for apps likely used by under-18 people. We must check each provider's age and data-use restrictions and withhold a provider rather than try to bypass its terms. No optional external AI data transfer occurs merely because a CV was uploaded.

4. Learning and profile features#

We will review public sharing, recruiter/institution access, behavioral monitoring, personalized recommendations, analytics and profiling for child-specific legal restrictions. Student profile information should default to a restricted visibility state. Advertising and targeted marketing aimed at children must be separately assessed and restricted as law requires.

5. Parent/guardian authorization#

The actual service must implement an age-appropriate verification method that collects no more information than necessary. This draft intentionally does not describe a particular method before engineering and legal approval. Parent/guardian contact/identity data must have its own purpose, retention and access controls.

6. Questions and requests#

A student, parent or lawful guardian may contact Awaiting Verification: protected child privacy support to seek information, raise concerns or request correction/deletion subject to verification and law.
